Multipitch Climbing & Self-Rescue Course
This course is for climbers looking to learn how to multipitch on sport climbs. You will learn how to build a multipitch anchor, belay from above, and other techniques related to multipitch climbing, as well as self-rescue skills.
Participants must already have experience sport lead climbing outdoors.
This course is offered in English and/or French.

Course Content
● Risks and considerations in the multipitch setting
● Climbing equipment and their application specific to lead multipitch
● Climbing knots and their application specific to lead multipitch
● Building multipitch anchors
● Belaying a leader
● Belaying a follower
● Rope management on a multipitch
● Rappelling on a multipitch
● Self-rescue of a leader and a follower
● Gear management
Prerequisites:
● Must know how to set up a top rope anchor and rappel (have taken an outdoor transition course)
● Must have 3 months minimum of lead climbing experience
● Age minimum: 18 years old
● Must be able to hike 2 km uphill
What's Included
● Rock climbing gear rental (rope, slings, cordelettes, carabiners, personal anchor system, helmet, harness)
● Course Content for 2 days
● Plenty of time to practice acquired skills

● Entrance fee ($14+tax/person/day)
Group Size:
The group size remains at a maximum of 4 participants. You however do not need a partner to book and will be grouped with other participants.

● Reviewing top rope anchors and rappelling
● Building multipitch anchors
● Multipitch transition: belaying from above and following the leader
● Reviewing top rope anchors and rappelling
● Rappelling on a multipitch
● Rope management at a belay station
DAY 2:
● Self-rescue steps
● Escaping the belay
● Ascending the rope
● Rescuing a leader
● Rescuing a follower
● Hauling
